In case you’re unfamiliar, a little info about the UGE and what it means to be a staffer:

The UGE, located in room 413 of the SSMU building on McGill campus, is a trans positive feminist organization that seeks to be anti oppressive and antri racist in our practices.

The UGE is volunteer based, with staffers helping to run our office on a day to day basis (11-5 Monday-Friday). Many people use the UGE as a place to relax, unwind, get support, or eat their midnight kitchen!!
Staffers help people visit the Co-op, where we have alternative menstrual products, gender empowerment items, and other great things for pay what you can prices!! Staffers also help visitors check out books from our library or zines from our zine distro!
The UGE also has a collective, which is run non-hierarchically and an approximately 5-10 hour/week commitment (or based on how much time you can contribute)
We also put on events, and have a library with lots of great books as well as a zine distribution center!

We at the UGE are excited for another year of fun, solidarity, and organizing, but we need your help to make it happen!

Hope to see you at Staffer Training!

not recognizing abusive behavior as abuse until you’re out of that situation is not at all unusual and does not mean your experiences are less than real, less than valid, that it didn’t happen, or that you deserved it
